Senator Melissa Hurtado Releases Statement on the Porterville Library Fire

SACRAMENTO, CA – Today, Senator Melissa Hurtado (D-Sanger) released the statement regarding the Porterville library fire:

“Last night, the community of Porterville experienced a fire at the local library which resulted in the loss of two brave firefighters. Today, I’m joining the southern Central Valley, Senate District – 14 and all of California in mourning with the families and those who have been impacted by this tragedy.

While we grieve the loss, it is without a doubt that the southern Central Valley will rise above this to continue uplifting the region. As we move forward together, I extend my deepest condolences to the Porterville community and firefighters and commend the brave men and women who continue to work tirelessly to protect and serve the southern Central Valley.”
