Senator Melissa Hurtado’s Equitable Climate Resilience Act Bill Moves to Appropriations Committee

SACRAMENTO, CA – Under bipartisan support, Senator Melissa Hurtado’s (D-Sanger) legislation to ensure disadvantage unincorporated communities are eligible to receive implementation funding from the Transformative Climate Communities (TCC) program advanced through the Senate Standing Committee on Environmental Quality.

“Although disadvantaged unincorporated communities have been eligible to receive funding to develop TCC plans through the Strategic Growth Council, California’s vulnerable unincorporated communities have not been eligible to implement those plans,” stated Senator Melissa Hurtado. “SB 351 will ensure that these communities receive their fair share of investments to develop community driven green projects including pedestrian and bike projects, water and energy resilience programs, and more.”

SB 351 will move onto the Senate Appropriation Committee.
