BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — The California Farmworker Foundation says with the worsening drought over the past few years, 20% of the agriculture industry has been wiped out, which means farmworkers today have less work than ever before.
Relief could be coming to farmworkers affected by drought as climate change continues to disrupt the workforce. A bill introduced by Senator Melissa Hurtado aims to provide financial assistance to farmworkers struggling to afford basic necessities.
